  • Well, much has happened since I brought my puppy Echo home. He's grown, and learned how to sit, stay (as long as a puppy can), heel, down, bed, and kennel. He's caused griefs, mainly related to potty training, but as a whole, he's leaned a lot. I'm still glad I got him, even if he does take up most of my non-work time.

Work is going well also. Only two weeks remain in my internship with IBM, and I must say I'm sad that my time with IBM is coming to a close, after a year and three months of working with them. There may still be hope for working from school again, but it's faint. I had a meeting with a manager from another department who knew some friends of mine from LeTourneau, supported an MAF family in Mali, and encouraged me to stand strong in the faith--especially in the defining days of college. That was encouraging to hear to say the least.
Becca and I have been keeping good communication lines open (several hours a day via phone and/or webcam) and I even had the privilege of flying down to Texas to visit her family on the 4th of July weekend. We drove to Austin, went sailing with her grandfather and parents, and saw an outdoor theater Broadway production of Beauty and the Beast.

In two weeks I'll drive South to see her again, and we'll fly to Idaho for part of a week with my family. When we return to Texas, school will be upon us, and we'll both be busy with our work, school-work, friends, and other various activities. All in all, I'd say it's been a great summer, but I'm gearing up for a change in pace and a new steady schedule in school.

Hi Robert ~  So glad for an update from you! Where has the summer gone? It seems you have maximized yours with a good balance of work, puppydom and relationship building. Your girl looks and sound like a winner. We miss you. Love from the Northern Plains, Greatmom and Granddad
